**Salary**: $23.38 - $28.34 per hour
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
- 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays.
- $2.75 per hour for evenings.

**Role Responsibilities**:
- We are looking to hire 5 Parks Maintenance Service Workers (MSW2). These are front line roles required to provide operations support at the Sikome Aquatic Facility within Fish Creek Provincial Park (FCPP), noting that they may be assigned responsibilities elsewhere in the Kananaskis Region.
The Sikome Aquatic Facility is an artificial water body used for recreational purposes (swimming etc.) located in South Calgary, within Fish Creek Provincial Park.
Work duties range from litter picking and waste removal to landscape and grounds keeping work, including beach maintenance, as well as maintenance and repair of the Sikome and surrounding infrastructure. There may also be tasks such as building and washroom/changeroom cleaning. Some roles will be expected to perform water quality testing with chemical test equipment and visual observations including the documentation, and reporting of results.
Maintenance staff will be expected to work outside in inclement weather conditions, safety being considered.
**In this role, you will**:
- Clean and maintain grounds for the Sikome Aquatic Facility.
- Perform general maintenance and repair activities as directed.
- Test and monitor water quality at the Sikome Lake Aquatic facility.
- Operate various pieces of equipment including commercial mowers, tractors, beach rake with beach rake, trimmers, and various hand tools.
The Sikome facility is a 7 day/week operation and thus you will be required to work a rotational schedule that encompasses weekdays and weekends, typically from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm for a day shift and 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm for an afternoon shift but may fluctuate throughout the season due to daylight hours and operational needs.

- Some High School education plus one year of related experience.
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education; or one year of experience for one year of education.

- Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License or equivalent.
**Assets**:
- High School graduation with post-Secondary studies in progress or completed is preferred.
- Physically able to perform the duties as assigned.
- Willingness to work outdoors, including during times of inclement weather.
- Good communication skills and work well independently or in a team setting.
- Self-driven and reliable.
- A strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in and/or understanding of water monitoring or water treatment.
- Interest in the natural environment and/or environmental studies.
