**Position Purpose**

**The Andre E. Lalonde Facility in Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AEL-AMS) at the University of Ottawa is Canada’s national AMS laboratory, specializing in high-precision radiocarbon dating, environmental isotope analysis, and applied research in geosciences, archaeology, climate studies, and biofuels. Our world-class instrumentation, including a 3MV HVEE AMS system and a MICADAS AMS, enables collaborations with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry partners worldwide. The Science Liaison Officer promotes research, supports partnerships and client outreach, and shares the impact of the AMS lab and Isotope science with a broader audience.

**The prorated salary range for this part-time position is $37,503 to $46,879.**

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:

- Develop scientific and social media content (LinkedIn, Blog posts, news articles) to promote research, partnerships, clients, and facility activities. Track and report engagement metrics for online content and outreach activities.
- Support the development of scientific and promotional publications, including media and information reports, brochures, research impact summaries, and outreach materials.
- Maintain and update the facility’s website, ensuring clear and engaging communication of projects and services.
- Act as a point of contact for academic, government, and industry partners, facilitating collaboration and engagement. Coordinates meetings, lab tours and other activities on behalf of the facility manager.
- Assist in organizing and executing internal and external outreach events such as scientific workshops, posters, conferences, and networking events. Supports the creation of presentations and promotional materials.
- Supports researchers to simplify scientific topics for broader audiences and assists in branding efforts (online and print) to increase awareness of the facility’s work.

**What you will bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field (scientific background or experience in earth sciences, chemistry, or physics is an asset).
- Minimum 2 years of outreach or liaison experience
- Understanding of scientific terminology, publications, reports
- Experience with LinkedIn and social media platforms; familiarity with website content management is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client and institutional engagement.
- Event planning and organizational experience, particularly in workshops, conferences, or public outreach.
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or web development an asset).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven environment.
- Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)
