Location: YMCA Camp Pine Crest, Torrance, Ontario (Transportation to camp is available at the beginning and end of the summer)

Work Hours: Must be available to work 6 days a week between Monday - Sunday

The Day Camp Program Head supports the Day Camp Director in supervising staff to ensure effective program delivery and a positive experience for campers. This role emphasizes leadership through coaching and mentoring counsellors while facilitating engaging programs and training. By organizing necessary materials and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures, the Program Head fosters a safe and enjoyable environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to make a meaningful impact on children's camp experiences.

**In this role, you will**:

- Assist the Day Camp Director in supervising camp counsellors to ensure they fulfil their roles
- Provide leadership to the camp staff by monitoring, coaching, and mentoring
- Support counsellors with program delivery, including setup, takedown, organizing program equipment, and ensuring counsellors have all necessary materials
- Facilitate programs and assist with training camp staff in program delivery
- Cover counsellor breaks, staff absences, and deliver programs as needed
- Attend all staff training sessions and meetings, arrive on time, and actively participate to support the development of all camp staff
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, and contribute to the cleaning, safety, and maintenance of camp sites
- Perform other duties as assigned

**You bring**:

- Standard First Aid & CPR-C and NLS, by the first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of your contract or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a child-oriented program
- Experience with YMCA Day Camps is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with families, staff, and volunteers
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a group of children
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve optimal collective results
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging
