The Autosys/Data Caching, Data Middleware, and Data Distribution L3 support team is part of the Enterprise Computing Services Organization at Morgan Stanley.
- This position is for a technical operations specialist with global responsibility for managing and providing support for Data Messaging products built using middleware solutions such as MQ and Kafka, hosted and containerization, based on an internally built product CPS (Content Pub/Sub).

The position requires on call coverage outside business hours one week a month.

The hours will be adjusted within the team to accommodate for the extended coverage.

The Data Messaging operational support role is responsible for supporting Morgan Stanley's data messaging platform on a day-to-day basis, managing lifecycle and hygiene projects, supporting migrations, and working in a DevOps environment to create and optimize tooling and automation, and help build a containerized data messaging infrastructure.

**You will**:

- Level 3 production management of the Firm's data messaging plant. This includes handling escalations from Level 1 and Level 2, incident management, request fulfilment, problem management, and change management.
- Deep-diving into complex troubleshooting, implementing changes, and serving as an escalation point for the Level 2 teams.
- Improving operational processes and automation by proactively identifying, analyzing, and improving upon existing processes and tools.
- Work in a global environment in a team that has members across the globe and provides support 24/7 in a follow the sun manner.
- Creating and maintaining best practices / policies and ensuring that they are followed.
- Participate in the weekly review meetings and actively engage with various engineering teams to review the infrastructure.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience with Linux System Administration (preferably Red Hat)
- Familiarity with scripting (Perl or Python preferred)
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Independent problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and a mindset for taking ownership
- Operational concepts such as SLA, metrics, and alerts
- A minimum of 5 years of infrastructure production support

**Experience You might also have**:

- Public/private Cloud experience
- Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes/Openshift)
- Experience with Agile development methodology and CI/CD
- Experience with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow
- Experience with troubleshooting tools such as TCPdump and Wireshark.
- Interest and understanding of emerging IT trends

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $45.00-$70.00 per hour
