**Position Profile**:
In collaboration with the Community Integration Supervisor, the Community Integration Worker is responsible to facilitate and organize programs for the Youth Transitional Housing program. The Community Integration Worker will organize programs designed to engage youth in life skills development, employment, education and recreation, along with empowering the youth to achieve and sustain housing.

**Role Overview**:

- Support youth with their goals as set out by the client and their primary worker.
- Coordinate and/or facilitate group based and one-on-one life skills programs onsite and potentially in the community.
- Provide a monthly calendar in advance for the youth in the Transitional Housing Program, consisting of internal and external programing.
- Facilitate biweekly resident meetings and administer resident satisfaction surveys.
- Provide additional support with care path planning to prepare youth for independent housing (e.g., accommodation searches, contacting potential landlords etc.).
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside organizations for resources for the client in the Youth Resource Center (provides youth with the most up-to-date information on community agencies and their programs).
- Collect statistics and prepare reports as required and meet deadlines for required monthly, quarterly and year end reports.
- Actively engage all youth of the residence on a daily basis to participate in programming or encourage development of life skills.
- Provide a positive and respectful environment to youth in the shelter.
- All other duties as required in the successful management of program and shelter operations while partnering with all stakeholders in support of organizational success.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Social Services or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 1-2 years' experience working in job development, and/or employment counselling, housing and programming.
- Experience working with youth in a shelter/residential setting an asset.
- Knowledge of homelessness, mental health and addictions an asset.
- Knowledge of housing first for youth, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction practices an asset.
- Knowledge of resources within the Region of Peel, specifically for youth.
- Ability to facilitate programming to the youth in the Transitional Housing Program.
- Effective problem solving, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including some weekends and holidays.
- A valid Ontario's full G Driver's Licence is strongly preferred, with a clean driver's abstract. If applicable, a $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is required.
- Valid CPI/UMAB and First Aid/CPR certifications.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check that meets the standards of Our Place Peel.
- Must be flexible to work between Brampton and Mississauga locations as needed.
