**Quality of Life Aide (Casual) - Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer, Alberta**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to Recreation Supervisor, the Quality-of-Life Aide will:

- Provide meaningful and engaging activities for residents using a holistic approach.
- Plan recreation activities in correlation with monthly calendar.
- Facilitate recreation programs, entertainment, and special events.
- Communicate with professional staff when residents may need specific therapeutic interventions.
- Porter residents to and from facility activities and events.
- Work to provide therapeutic interventions that focus on all domains: cognitive, social, physical, sensory, and spiritual.
- Communicate with other Quality of Life Aides to provide programs.
- Work with volunteers by helping to facilitate resident interactions and programs.
- Provide evening and weekend programming.
- Schedule as per resident requirements.
- Other duties as delegated.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Diploma in Recreation/Health Related Field
- Experience working in recreation
- Experience working in a long-term care setting
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organization, planning, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to be creative and flexible
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively
