We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, creative, and entrepreneurially-minded individual who is looking to gain experience supporting non-profit learning programs. HIEC offers a variety of programs, from our Virtual and in-person Career Lab for students as young as grade seven, to our skilled trades exploration and employment programs for young people up to 30.
This role is well-suited to an energetic and organized individual with strong written, verbal communication skills and project management skills.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Reviewing, updating and organizing materials for HIEC’s programs;
- Updating and maintaining contact databases;
- Organizing program files and records;
- Updating and maintaining program-related materials on the organization's website;
- Assisting with preparing for upcoming programs through administrative and research tasks;
- Assisting with participant monitoring and tracking, including collection of participant forms, following up on outstanding materials, and collecting and reviewing participant feedback;
- Conducting inventory tracking and data entry to ensure all resources and materials are accounted for;
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as booking meetings, taking meeting minutes, and assisting with follow-up tasks;
- Assisting with program events, both in preparation for the event, during the event, and following the event;
- Assisting with tracking and monitoring program deliverables; and
- Other program-related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications to succeed**:
- Strong proficiency in the Google Suite, Microsoft Office, CANVA, databases and a variety of social media channels is an asset;
- Comfortable in both Windows and Mac environment;
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and a passion for education and career development;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated skill in writing clear and engaging content;
- Demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects to meet established deadlines;
- Resourceful and able to proactively anticipate needs and provide solutions to effectively deal with challenging situations;
- Comfortable with ambiguity, but focused on building and maintaining strong processes while always looking for ways to improve;
- Interest and ability to work in a smaller-sized, not-for-profit organization.
**Working Conditions**
- Typical working hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with some requirement to work additional hours, occasionally during evenings and weekends.
- Currently work is remote/from home, with a planned return to work in our Burlington office
- Potentially required to travel within Ontario for program and events
