Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Assistant Director of Maintenance is responsible for coordinating and overseeing maintenance activities within the hotel. The incumbent in this position plays a crucial role in preserving the establishment's infrastructure and equipment, as well as in training maintenance staff.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the hotel.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks, including repairing basic equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to plan and allocate tasks within the maintenance team to ensure 24/7 coverage in case of emergencies.
- Monitor maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Train and mentor maintenance personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety standards and best practices.
- Manage inventories of spare parts and tools necessary for maintenance.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure maintenance needs are considered in the hotel's activity planning.
- Identify and promptly resolve technical issues and breakdowns, minimizing disruptions to guests.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in coordination meetings with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
**Required Qualifications and Skills**:
- Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong technical skills in electricity, plumbing, mechanics, and other areas of general maintenance.
- Ability to supervise and lead a team, with excellent communication and management skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and the importance of rigorous adherence.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a problem-solving orientation.
- Flexibility to work on a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
