Montréal, Canada MWS Student Camps Full time

Location: MWS Camps Montreal, McGill University

Start date: June 22 - August 03. This is a residential position. There will be training days prior to the start of employment.

Compensation: $5500 for dates noted above. Contract terms include all meals, single room accommodation, and entrance to all excursions and activities. Assistant Director will have 1 day off per week.

Established in 1983, MWS Student Camps has welcomed thousands of young people from more than 50 nations to our camps. From the beginning, we have strived to offer and operate innovative, vibrant, and exciting programmes. Our MWS Montreal Camp is centrally located at McGill University allowing us access to so much the city has to offer and immerse our students with Canadian culture.

Our English Camp Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the English Camp Director. with the duties for the English camp. The assistant will be working with all of our three age groups: Junior 7-10, Intermediate 11-13, and Senior 14-17. The assistant director will be responsible for assisting with the English camp operations, programming camp activities, and other organizational aspects of the camp at the discretion of the English director. The Assistant Director will accompany campers and leaders on excursions to places like Ottawa, Quebec City, La Ronde, Alouettes Football games, and much more. They will be responsible for filling in for leaders on their days off to maintain ratios and lead campers in activities/excursions. They will also lead the section on the English Director's day off. This role reports to the English Camp Director.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Assist the English camp during activities, excursions, meals, etc.
- Cover for English Damp Leaders and the English Damp Director when necessary
- Work with MWS staff to create an inclusive camp community
- Support with training activities and workshops
- Work cooperatively with MWS leaders and staff to ensure campers are safe, healthy, and happy
- Promote and display MWS values
- Maintain camper and staff confidentiality at all times

Qualifications & Experience:

- Post-Secondary student or higher
- Fluent in English
- Volunteer and/or work experience with youth in a camp setting and/or educational environment
- Fluency in other languages is an asset but not required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and appreciated of diversity and social inclusivity
- Able to work collaboratively with directors and leaders
- Strong conflict resolution skills

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 weeks

Pay: $5,500.00 per year
