Project Estimator/coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator/Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide support to our offices across Canada by estimating and coordinating various overhead crane maintenance, service and install projects. This is an in-office role but may be located in any of our locations, (Langley BC, Mississauga ON, Calgary AB, or Nisku AB). We provide a team-oriented atmosphere, competitive wages, and benefits after the probationary period. General experience and knowledge in the Overhead Crane Industry is required.
As an Overhead Crane Project Estimator/Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our organization by accurately assessing project requirements, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring the efficient operation of overhead cranes. Your expertise in estimating costs, understanding crane components, and managing service needs will contribute to our success.
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyze project blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to determine crane requirements.
- Estimate costs for crane installation, upgrades, and repairs.
- Prepare quotes and bid packages for clients.
- Consider factors such as labor, materials, and equipment.
- Understand the various components of overhead cranes, including hoists, trolleys, girders, and electrical systems.
- Evaluate the condition of existing crane parts and recommend replacements or upgrades.
- Collaborate with service technicians, project coordinators and management to ensure that service related items are carried out as per estimated procedures.
- Address any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records through information management and data entry
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers
- Deliver exceptional customer service through efficient and clear communication with customers, management and service technicians.
- Keep on top of industry trends and advancements.
- Ensure that all planned crane installations and repairs comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project specifications.
- Work with Project Coordinator to ensure crane installation, maintenance, and repair schedules to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure seamless communication between different departments involved in crane operations.
- Work with subcontractors as required
- Perform administrative tasks in relation to the role
- Other duties as required by the company
- Highly developed communication skills, fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
- Superior organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Understanding of purchasing, shipping and PO Management
- Exceptional time management, experience with scheduling ins an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems is beneficial.
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- A professional designation, technical diploma or equivalent would be considered to be an asset.
