**Position Description**:
The Administrative Coordinator, Clinical Extern Program partners with the Senior Manager, Professional Practice, Professional Practice Coordinator, Extern Program, and members of the local leadership teams to support a safe and effective experience for SickKids Clinical Externs.
As part of the Clinical Extern program enhancement, the Administrative Coordinator, Clinical Extern Program will support activities related to payroll, scheduling, staff support, and key program projects and scheduling needs.
This new role works as a member of the Collaborative for Professional Practice team and reports to the Senior Manager, Professional Practice.
**What do we do in the Collaborative for Professional Practice?**
The Collaborative for Professional Practice is the portfolio that advances care in the context of nursing and interprofessional delivery of child and family-centred care. We serve the diverse needs of nurses and interprofessionals to lead change and promote systems thinking. The Collaborative is a uniquely positioned office that collaborates in developing, implementing and evaluating processes, structures, and models of care that facilitate our healthcare workforce to perform to their best.
Given the dynamic nature of practice issues across the organization, the Collaborative provides crucial leadership to maintain and develop networks across stakeholder groups. The Collaborative facilitates information exchange and enables partnerships to advance interprofessional paediatric and nursing practice locally, provincially, and nationally.
**Here's what you'll get to do**
- Coordinate critical processes related to Extern onboarding and orientation (e.g., scheduling and coordination)
- Serve as a liaison and partner between the unit scheduling coordinators and central extern program leadership team to ensure accurate Extern records and payroll reconciliation
- Assist in the development of scheduling guidelines, processes and procedures
- Prepare, maintain, and update presentations, documents and materials as required
- Participate in Extern program planning and evaluation
- Support key quality and process improvement initiatives as the Extern program evolves
- Support other projects and activities as required
**Here's what you'll need**
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education or related field preferred
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Demonstrated experience working with clinical team members
- Experience with clinical staff scheduling, coordination and payroll
- Demonstrated coordination skills, including intermediate knowledge of MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerBI, Forms, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize information for presentation to key stakeholders
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills, and proven ability to establish relationships successfully
- Demonstrated ability to be creative, self-directed, innovative, adaptive, results
- and detail-oriented
