**Position Summary**
The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking a Clinical Program Manager for the Ontario Hereditary Cancer Research Network (OHCRN). OHCRN is a province-wide program connecting individuals with hereditary cancer to researchers, clinical trials and support groups.
Working with the Leader of OHCRN and Director of Adaptive Oncology, the Clinical Program Manager will function as the central interface between the clinical and research activities of OHCRN, driving program coordination and fostering connections across Ontario’s hereditary cancer community. The Clinical Program Manager will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with collaborating clinics, registries, and patient partners, as well as engaging with broader patient and researcher communities. This role will interact frequently with the Leader of OHCRN, other program and project managers and Principal Investigators (PIs) from various research network activities across Ontario, and support OICR-based administrative functions. The Clinical Program Manager will supervise clinical research coordinators, providing guidance on study-related tasks and ensuring alignment with program goals. This role will oversee clinical communication strategies, lead community outreach initiatives such as events and conferences, and help ensure the program remains at the forefront of emerging research and technologies. This position requires strong organizational skills, clinical insight, and the ability to navigate complex interdisciplinary projects to ensure the continued success of OHCRN in advancing hereditary cancer research.
**Position Responsibilities**
Clinical Program Coordination & Registry Operations
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with provincial genetics clinics, laboratories, and existing hereditary cancer registries to streamline patient recruitment efforts and data sharing
- Oversee the planning and execution of registry operations, including data collection, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and maintenance
- Support the development of the patient and clinical coordinator portals to enable secure and comprehensive data collection for research, leading the integration of clinical expertise into the design and functionality
- Work closely with Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC team) to ensure accurate data transcription, adherence to protocols, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting
- Support CRCs and manage ethics approvals, including submissions to the Ontario Cancer Research Ethics Board (OCREB) and local Research Ethics Boards (REBs)
- Coordinate contracts with partner sites, supporting onboarding and data privileging of OHCRN staff with participating institutions
- In conjunction with the Senior Program Manager, organize and lead OHCRN Steering Committee and subcommittee meetings, ensuring regular communication, follow-up on action items, and documentation of key outcomes
- Plan, schedule and organize team meetings, keep clear minutes, capture assignment of action items and ensure follow-up
- Liaise with laboratories and genetics clinics to identify carriers of hereditary cancer syndromes and Ontario patients undergoing genetic testing
Patient & Community Engagement
- Actively engage with patient partners to incorporate their perspectives into registry development and program activities
- Plan and implement public outreach events, workshops, and educational initiatives to raise awareness of hereditary cancer syndromes and OHCRN’s work
- Serve as a liaison between patient communities, research teams, and external stakeholders. Nurture, build, and maintain internal and external collaborative relationships/agreements with relevant teams and community partners
