**Payroll & Benefits Specialist (REMOTE)**
**OBJECTIVE**:
The Senior Bilingual Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the payroll and benefit administration functions of the company.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Processes multi-province bi-weekly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees, including employer and employee payroll taxes, benefits, and other deductions
- Perform regular payroll and benefits audit
- Thorough understanding of all payroll practices and Canadian legislation (especially Quebec)
- Understanding General Ledger output reports and balance/reconciliation as it pertains to payroll
- Updates and maintains employee records in the HRIS
- Assists in the administration of the group benefit plan, which includes regular communication with members and maintaining files.
- Prepares and sends Records of Employment (ROE)
- Supports the completion of monthly reconciliations and reporting (benefits, payroll, compensation, and HR workflow)
- Assists with year-end processing and reconciliation
- Annual reconciliations and remittances: T4, T4A, PIER, Group RRSP, General Ledger account
- Responds to employee questions in a timely manner as they relate to payroll and benefits
- Updates and maintains the payroll and benefit guidelines and procedures
- Updates and maintains payroll and benefits information on the company intranet site
- Sends standard communications to provide updates regarding payroll and benefits to the organization
- Prepare Ad Hoc Reports as needed
- Assists with the Time and Attendance system
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 3 to 5 years of experience processing a full cycle payroll for multiple provinces
- 3 to 5 years of payroll software experience required
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a must
- 3 to 5 years of benefit administration experience, additional experience is considered an asset
- Ability to speak, read, and write in both English and French is required
- Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience working as part of a team and individually
- Knowledge and understanding of various provincial legislation requirements, employment standards and Canada Revenue Agency as it relates to payroll and benefits
- Proven analytical and data entry skills with acute attention to detail
- Very detailed and process-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to interact with various levels of employees and management
- High degree of confidentiality and discretion
