**Role: Safety Advisor**

**Location: Milltown, NB**

Reporting to the Project Manager, with a functional reporting relationship to the Vice President Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, this position provides support and guidance to employees, supervisors and subcontractors working at the project site, with respect to corporate and client safety policies, practices, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Your primary accountabilities would include:

- Responsible to develop and promote a zero harm safety culture in the execution of the work and support the Company’s safety, quality and environment programs;
- Initiate, promote, implement and maintain health and safety projects and initiatives;
- Provide support to the Corporate Disability Manager to ensure work related injuries are managed effectively;
- Ensure safety orientations are current and delivered effectively;
- Provide team training as required;
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements;
- Propose solutions to safety related nonconformities;
- Provide advice, guidance, coaching and mentoring to the project team;
- Ensure Safe Work Procedures and JSAs are current and complete for project site;
- Conduct tool box meetings and safety audits and report on results;
- Ensure incidents are investigated thoroughly and effectively, and responded to appropriately as required, including communicating to, training and following up with supervisors and employees;
- Conduct Daily Inspections Activities and verifies the compliance with the provisions in matter of occupational health and safety;
- Diligently encourage and promote positive and effective employee relations through communications initiatives, coaching supervisors, providing counseling to employees and monitoring employee satisfaction;
- Conduct duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results
- focused attitude;
- Support company initiatives and policies enthusiastically;
- Other duties as assigned.
