**Weaver, Simmons LLP** is seeking a Civil Litigation Clerk to join our Sudbury office. The individual will be working with Litigation Lawyers, whose practice is primarily focused on Plaintiff or Defendant Civil Litigation.

**Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Communicating with clients and general client management.
- Be assigned to one or more civil litigation practice areas of personal injury, commercial and insurance.
- Gather, assess and catalogue evidence.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses and opposing counsel.
- Draft pleadings, correspondence, affidavits and lists of documents.
- Prepare for examinations for discovery, motions and pre-trails.
- Organize and maintain document beliefs.
- Docket time using PC Law software
- Other duties as required.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Understanding how to prioritize tasks and escalate files appropriately.
- Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Proficiency in dealing with Court information and communication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to be resourceful and work with mínimal instruction and/or under supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Being proactive and taking initiative in anticipation of the next steps.
- A demonstrated working knowledge of PC Law, Microsoft Office, and Adobe software is an asset.

**Qualifications**:

- 3 Years of Experience in Accident Benefit Claims is preferred.
- Dealing with any matters relating to Civil Litigation is an asset.
- Completion of the Paralegal or Law Clerk degree or certificate is an asset.
- Have a strong working knowledge of legal terminology to prepare civil legal documents
