GrandBridge Energy is looking for a Meter Technician to join our growing team. This union role will report to our Bishop street office in Cambridge._ _

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Install and maintain all single-phase metering, poly-phase metering and automated meter reading equipment and systems to applicable standards.
- Assist as required with the design, planning, coordination, operation, and maintenance of all metering systems as per Measurement Canada and other legislative requirements.
- Effectively use computers and various types of metering vendor and third-party software and testing equipment.
- Perform meter changes as part of the annual meter reverification plan to maintain compliance with Measurement Canada.
- Prepare job plans for projects to facilitate meter maintenance on various metering systems.
- Troubleshoot problems with metering systems, AMI Network communication, modem/communication equipment and telephone lines as required.
- Maintain and program electronic metering hardware, software, and testing equipment.
- Organize meters that are being re-verified by accredited meter testing contractor.
- Ensure all required tasks are completed in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the Electrical Utility Safety Rules, and GrandBridge Energy’s Policies & Procedures.
- Check quantities of meter and metering equipment inventory and relay information to Metering Sub Foreperson.
- Perform installation, removal and maintenance of all metering equipment and systems, including troubleshooting, cross phase, and accuracy analysis, etc.
- Demonstrate a customer focused approach and strong interpersonal skills when dealing with customers and stakeholders.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture by fostering collaboration, maintaining a positive attitude, supporting our customers, and contributing to a respectful and inclusive environment.

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma in Engineering Technology (Electrical or Electronic) or equivalent experience.
- Electrician’s licence would be considered an asset.
- Valid Class “G” vehicle licence.
- Thorough knowledge of the specifications and safe work practices in the E&USA Rule Book, ESA Regulation and OH&SA essential.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Utility metering systems construction & maintenance.
- Excellent communication, planning, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Physically able to handle heavy metering equipment and work in inside and outside environments.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools in the construction of metering installations.
