Sauve’s RONA Home Centre is seeking an experienced and reliable **Lumber Yard Manager** to oversee all daily operations of our lumber yard. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment.

The Yard Manager is responsible for supervising yard staff, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment, controlling inventory, managing equipment, and delivering exceptional service to both retail and contractor customers.

This position is critical to our operational success and the overall customer experience.

**Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Staff Management**
- Supervise, coach, and motivate yard staff to maintain high performance
- Organize daily workflow and delegate tasks effectively
- Train new employees in yard procedures, safety rules, and equipment operation
- Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues
- Create and manage weekly schedules to ensure proper coverage

**Customer Service & Contractor Support**
- Ensure customers receive fast, accurate, and professional service
- Oversee material loading, cutting, and order preparation
- Work closely with the Pro Desk and Inside Sales to fulfill contractor orders
- Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency

**Inventory Control & Yard Organization**
- Manage yard inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation
- Coordinate receiving of shipments; verify accuracy and condition of materials
- Maintain clean, safe, and clearly organized lumber and building materials
- Track inventory discrepancies and communicate issues with management

**Equipment & Safety Management**
- Ensure forklifts and other equipment are operated safely and maintained daily
- Conduct daily/weekly safety inspections and enforce company safety standards
- Train staff on equipment use, PPE, and safe work procedures
- Lead a safety-first environment in all yard operations

**Operational Efficiency**
- Develop and implement improved yard processes and workflows
- Reduce waste, damage, and inefficiencies through better handling and organization
- Work with management to plan seasonal changes, yard layout improvements, and product flow
- Ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time

**Qualifications**
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experienced with forklifts, building materials, and contractor service
- Physically capable of lifting 50-80 lbs and working outdoors
- Organized, efficient, and able to multitask under pressure
- Valid forklift license (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license preferred

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
