**Job Summary**:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle of the organization. The incumbent will coordinate and participate in JHSC quarterly meetings, review employee hours, maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and recommend best practices. They will also develop job descriptions and salary scales, extend verbal job offers, and draft employment agreements specific to individual roles. Onboarding new hires, handling employee complaints, and terminating employees will also be critical responsibilities. In addition, the HR Generalist will gather and analyze data on useful HR metrics, coordinate employee events, and oversee the quarterly performance review process.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Recruitment and Onboarding**
- Coordinate and participate in JHSC quarterly meetings.
- Review employee hours to monitor unapproved overtime and missed clock-in/out punches.
- Sign off on health and safety monthly audits, complete walk-around inspections, and actively find solutions to eliminate risks/concerns.
- Develop job descriptions and salary scales, extend verbal job offers, and draft employment agreements specific to individual roles.
- Onboard new hires, relay policies and procedures, collect documents, and complete paperwork.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
- Present onboarding presentation to new hires.
- Further, develop recruitment sourcing strategies.

**Employee Relations and Compliance**
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Handle employee complaints.
- Responsible for documentation and communication of all disciplinary matters.
- Performance and talent management communication with employees.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Terminate employees and conduct exit interviews for resignations.
- Complete payroll change form for providing either ROE information, pay increases, or internal transfers to the Accounting department.
- Primary contact for outside parties regarding confirmation of employment, ROE confirmation etc.

**Performance Management**
- Oversee quarterly performance review, and relay process to all supervisors/managers to complete for subordinate staff.

**Other Duties**
- Coordinate employee events.
- Develop policies to move forward in the WSIB Excellence Program.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle recruitment and employee relations.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The HR Generalist will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the executive management team to ensure the organization's smooth operation of HR functions.
