**Processing and Trimming Technician**

**Full Job Description**
Reporting to the Post Harvest and Processing Manager is responsible to trim marijuana buds, weigh, record and complete necessary documentation and prepare product for next stage of processing. The trimmer is also responsible for cleaning and sterilization of facility, equipment, and supplies. Consistently adhering to the SOPs in alignment with CTLS requirements is essential.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for line clearance, setup, documentation, in-process checks and quality spot checks for manufacturing lines.
- Achieve target line rates and appropriate quality levels.
- Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment
- Identify and remove obstacles that prevent your team from accomplishing tasks
- Proactively manage employee, process or equipment issues and escalating up as required
- Operate filling, capping, packaging and labelling equipment as needed
- Ensure equipment is clean and calibrated before use
- Manage trimming, pre-roll, packaging/labelling, storage, and shipping activities.

Operates and maintain pre-roll, milling equipment as needed.
- Set production schedule, maintaining a smooth workflow and manageable pace
- Follow label control process to create and document product and master case labels
- Ensure production targets, schedules, and quality metrics are consistently met
- Work with various stakeholders to help ensure IPM, sanitation and destruction activities are being carried out to standard
- Assist with cleaning and organization of packaging room
- Perform cleaning and maintenance on equipment as required
- Follow strict quality control checks and ensure batch records are recorded clearly and accurately
- Ensure quality standard is consistent with craft cannabis designation
- Follow guidelines for storing of supplies and products and disposal of waste
- Strict compliance with all regulations under the Cannabis Act
- Learn and implement SOPs for the processes of harvesting, trimming, packaging, and labelling
- Process plants during harvest in preparation for drying including trimming off stem and stalk
- Perform bulk packaging and finish packaging as directed by Head of Operations
- Clean up and sanitize processing areas
- Document activities including weights of product, and weights of destructible material and maintenance logs
- Perform regular calibration of equipment and testing instruments as required
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES**
- Must be punctual, reliable and have a good attendance record
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written) communicate with the team to ensure proper flow of information
- Ability to operate a weighing scale accurately
- Team oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs. and to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time
- Weekend shifts / overtime may be required

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Horticulture/Agricultural experience an asset
- Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Preference given to individuals who have an active/current security clearance (SCI)
