Maintenance Technician

We are currently recruiting for full time **Maintenance Technician **at our* Ancaster, Ontario* facility.
We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility of preserving, safety and the good condition and functionality of the premises and equipment. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as, facility lighting systems, HVAC, Packaging and Processing/Production equipment etc. You will be comfortable with the use of technology, such as Laptops, tablets in conjunction with CMMS systems and the creation of SOP’s and other supporting documents.
The goal is to maintain the building and common areas to “Best in Class” condition with a Continuous Improvement mindset. The successful individual will work collaboratively with all trades to ensure maximin safety and efficiency.
**This role is for the Day Shift.**
**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Survey buildings and repair mechanical and electrical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards and OEM specs.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and or corrective maintenance support to production and processing teams. Establish, manage, and perform preventative maintenance activities as per facility schedules.
- Repair, troubleshooting and installation of machinery including mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment, control systems and automation.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace lights/ballasts, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, service motors/pumps/valves/conveyors, Troubleshooting and repair equipment etc.).
- Overlook the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed.
- Perform manual repairs when necessary.
- Perform facility maintenance which includes tools and equipment in good working order while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Maintain 5S standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Electrician (442A) or Millwright (443A) certification required. Dual Ticket preferred.
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a food or pharmaceutical environment considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of PLC, robotic and HMI programming and controls, troubleshooting including modification and calibration of equipment, weight scales, VFD, Servomotors and network communications experience.
- Read and interpret, designing electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings to determine work procedures and ordering of necessary parts. Update all required changes.
- Troubleshoot, repair and install processing and high-speed packaging equipment to allow efficient results.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
- Strong SAP skill set, CMMS maintenance system and setup.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- This is a greenhouse working environment, which may have continuous exposure to heat, light and humidity.
- May be required to work on weekends and during holidays, from time to time.

**Physical Requirements**:

- This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), standing and bending.
