Purpose and Scope:
The junior maintenance and automation technician is responsible for minor PLC/HMI program modifications, debugging electrical systems, robotics troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC automation and large automation lines.

Responsible for the Installation and startup of new or modified production equipment, testing and maintaining existing equipment from the perspective of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls.

Responsible for uptime of equipment and documentation for automotive automation systems from the perspective of obtaining and updating technical reference manuals/instructions and electrical schematics required to service and maintain this equipment long term.

Duty split: 50% PLC/HMI, 25% Robotics, 25% other job responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work as a team member in a group of qualified personal in order to complete preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on existing machinery
- Ensure operational quality and efficiency targets are maintained
- Trouble shooting automation systems
- Perform PLC/HMI and robotic back ups
- Performed work documentation as required
- Provide suggestions towards preventive maintenance activities
- Ensure that all levels of safety are maintained in each automation change
- Assist in materials acquisition and implementation, inventory control for all machine wears and spares
- Willing to work overtime if required
- Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications, Education And / or Experience:

- Technical Diploma or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Technology
- A Certificate of qualification as an electrician or trade license in industrial electrical maintenance is a strong asset or relevant automotive industry experience
- Experience in the hands on repair and maintenance of Automation, robotics and CNC machining centers in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Rockwell, Omron and Siemens controls as well as Fanuc and ABB robotics
- Knowledge of PLC, Electrical and Mechanical Systems required
- Read and understand electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics/blueprints
- Fluent in written and spoken English, able to communicate effectively, convey information written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
