The MTE Logistix Group is currently seeking an experienced, senior, **Health and Safety Advisor **to join our safety team. This is a full-time position based at our office, located in the West end of Edmonton.

**Core Competencies**:
- Set a positive example for safety across the company to promote proactive safety activities from all staff with a boots on the ground mentality that drives a clear safety culture.
- Promotes continuous health and safety improvements, and the engraining of safe work behaviors as part of day-to-day thinking, managing and mitigating risk
- Works with management teams to develop safety frame works, conducts warehouse safety compliance inspections, including hazards analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
- Conduct training programs and sessions for supervisors and employees, with respect to occupational safety issues and to meet local, provincial, and federal OHS requirements.
- Design and write safety standards that conform to industry standards, federal, provincial and local regulations, as well as client qualification programs
- Monitor compliance with the company safety program by employees and subcontractors
- Create and advise on improvements in tracking and reporting procedures for safety data
- Perform analysis of accident and injury data and identify trends and safety management program needs, responsible for all WCB claims reporting and management
- Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- 5 years experience in Occupational Health and Safety in a related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills and communication skills (verbal, written and visual presentation)
- Proficient with presentation, database and office software
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites
- Some experience with warehousing and transportation industry will be preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
- Familiar with inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities
**Safety Certification Requirements**:
- Standard First Aid
- NCSO Certification
- Being a Forklift trainer or WHMIS trainer would be a benefit
- CSA Steel toed boots required. All other PPE is provided
- Class 5 Drivers License
