Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor

**Position Purpose and Summary**:
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Oversees daily purchasing activities and maintains key supplier relations.
- Analysis and maintains optimal inventory levels of raw materials with maximized inventory turns.
- Manages and oversees the handling of inventory-related issues.
- Optimizes inventory levels against seasonal peaks.
- Resolves out-of-stock situations, discovers and analyzes discrepancies in inventory data.
- Recommends improvements for changes to the inventory control system.
- Researches freight/shipping vendors and recommends carriers.
- Monitors order/delivery status and provides early warning on late deliveries to take corrective action.
- Determines, evaluates and makes recommendations regarding obsolete and excessive inventory.
- Evaluates suppliers and helps improve their performance.
- Manages the materials receiving department to ensure deliveries and shipments are recorded properly.
- Informs the Director of Operations of any supplier proposed price increases.

**The Place**:
- Prepac’s Manufacturing facility in Delta, BC
**Success Measures**:
- _In Stock -_ of all materials as set within the production schedule.
- _On Time Delivery -_of all open PO are within agreed upon lead time.
- _Inventory Turns -_ of all materials are within an established turn.
- _Meeting Quality Standards _- all procured materials meet or exceed Prepac’s Quality Standards.
- _Cost Saving Target _**:
- **of all raw materials are meeting the standard cost while embracing departmental cost reduction initiatives.
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Purchasing & Inventory Supervisor in a manufacturing setting, ideally within the furniture manufacturing industry.
- Expertise in supply chain and inventory processes with proven success in cost reduction
- Demonstrated success in maintaining inventory levels to meet current and future demand, with optimized inventory turns.
- Relevant post-secondary certification or degree in inventory, supply chain, logistics, or similar field.
- Knowledge of LEAN continuous improvement principles and/or certification is desirable.
- Working experience of ERP software utilizing standard costing is essential. Syspro software experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Creative problem-solving.
- A willingness and interest in leading, mentoring, coaching and developing team members.
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
