The Office of Student Experience and Wellbeing’s Student Life & International Student Centre offers exciting programs, cultivates strong communities and provides opportunities that enhance the student experience outside of the classroom while committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. **Your opportunity**:
Working with a dynamic team and under the general direction of the Director, Student Engagement and Campus Life, you will be dedicated to the enrichment of the co-curricular life of the campus by assisting with the delivery of programs and services, providing administrative support for campus groups, volunteers, work-study students, as well as front-line support for the department.

In addition, you will be assisting in developing, implementing and arranging logistics of orientation and advising sessions for student groups; mentoring and problem-solving in the course of student life programming; participating in the creation of student life resources, and helping build a sense of community amongst groups.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries, resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
- Determining logístical details and activities forevents and/or programming
- Liaising with internal and external contacts to coordinate execution of seminars and workshops, including coordination of space and resource requirements
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Screening and making referrals to appropriate resources and services
- Handling expenses for events
- Assigning and checking the work of work-study students and directing the activities of casual staff

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum two years of work-related experience in a student development/student life role at the post-secondary education level
- Strong experiential background in student life and student government issues
- Experience working with diverse communities, student advising and an ability to work within an anti-oppressive/equity framework
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
- Strong event management skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate computer proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with databases, web development, graphic design and publishing software
- Must possess the ability to relate to students in a manner that builds trust and confidence
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to implement programs
- Must have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Must show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.
