**ALICE HOUSE**:
Alice House provides safe second stage housing, counselling, advocacy, education, and support services for women with or without children who are fleeing family/intimate partner violence.

The primary function of the Domestic Violence Court Community Outreach position is to provide specialized advocacy support services to women within a variety of settings and functions including delivering violence prevention and recovery education to women, fem-identifying, non-binary, and 2-spirit individuals, and supporting women to navigate court processes and other complex systems. The development of this work will support the mission and vision of Alice House.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Advocacy, system navigation and support for women in a variety of settings.
- Ability to work independently, maintain client records accurately, within required timelines.
- Other duties as required.
**EDUCATION & PREVENTION**:
- Work collaboratively with community and corporate partners to provide quality and responsive programing to the local community and beyond.
- Conduct education workshops, community outreach and training.
- Participate in meetings, cross-divisional collaboration within Alice House team and interagency partners.
**CLIENT SUPPORT & ADVOCACY**:
- Provides crisis support, intervention, and outreach services to clients as needed.
- Ensure barriers to service access are identified and addressed with support of the program director.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social services, women’s studies or with combined training or related/equivalent education with case management experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience or training in family and intimate partner violence and/or the legal system.
- Knowledge of family law process and issues faced by women and children experiencing family violence.
- Demonstrated capacity to engage and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders of outside agencies and government.
- Must have a developed understanding of Trauma Informed Practice and actively integrate this practice into interactions with clients and fellow staff members.
- Hold in strictest confidence client’s personal information, adhere to professional boundaries, possess strong work ethic.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgement, ability to advocate, responsive to concerns in a timely manner.
**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
- A valid NS Driver’s License is required for this position.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR, Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention (ASIST), or a commitment to secure these requirements within three (3) months of being hired.
- A clear criminal record and vulnerable sectors check is required.
**ALICE HOUSE COMPENSATION PACKAGE**:
- Salary Range $58,000 (pro-rated at six months) based on the annual salary, based on a 35-hour work week.
