We are a democratic, member-driven union that is built on a foundation of integrity and respect. We are committed to working hard for our members, fighting for higher wages, better benefits, job security and fair treatment. We also use our voice to speak up on issues that impact our communities, such as implementing a living wage and standing against discrimination.

- Identify and coordinate member development opportunities provided by external labour and other associated organizations (e.g. labour councils, CLC’s Winter School).
- Develop and nurture relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. community organizations, Ministerial offices, labour councils).
- Represent the union at meetings or events of partner community organizations.
- Work with the Managing Director to develop and implement the union’s legislative goals in member engagement initiatives (e.g. Lobby Day).
- Provide training, support, and management of rank-and-file members booked off for events or special campaigns (e.g. GOTV for upcoming provincial election).
- Work closely with Union Representatives during internal organizing campaigns of disengaged units.
- Collaborate with the Communications department to develop materials for training programs or engagement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Organizing and Representation departments to develop member engagement opportunities outside of the bargaining process.
- Prepare written quarterly reports to measure the success of member engagement initiatives.

**Qualifications and other Requirements**:

- 3+ years of event planning experience, with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing training materials / educational curriculum preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience working with social justice organizations (within unions, community organizations or politics).
- Knowledge of labour unions and general political context in BC.
- Superior organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills that allow you to work accurately and efficiently when given tight turnaround times.
