We operate two (2) adjoining properties - Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Best Western Parkway Hotel, conveniently located at Highway 7 and Leslie Street in Richmond Hill. Accessible via YRT /VIVA transit, and Highways 7, 404 and 407. We have 30,000 sq feet meeting/conference center. Our largest ballroom is 10,000 sq. feet.

We are currently seeking an experienced, permanent, full time Banquet Supervisor to join our Banquet management team. This position has responsibility for ensuring efficient execution of events in conference/meeting facilities, supervising, and participating in serving banquet functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Supports the Director of Food & Beverage and Banquet Manager with training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching and disciplining all banquet servers, bartenders and cashiers, and lead within the banquet team to ensure that established cultural, core and brand standards are met
- The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
- Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event order, communicate directly with group contacts, Catering Managers, and Conference Services Managers to ensure that all details of the function are carried out
- Ensure quality and timeliness of all food items, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience.
- Help control labour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory and cash controls.
- Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments. Ensures the department is prepared and staffed accurately.
- Observe the physical condition of facilities and equipment in the banquet area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Banquets Manager, Director of F&B and/or General Manager
- Job Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

- Must have post secondary academics specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is required.
- Must have at least one year of previous experience in banquets as a Supervisor or Captain position in either a banquet operation.
- Must have a working knowledge of division operations as learnt on the job
- Must have flexibility to work a variety of shifts inclusive of weekends, evenings and holidays, opening shifts and closing shifts.
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritize
- Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and clearly in the English language
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills in the English language.
- Must have proven ability to provide excellent customer service and ability to “Wow” our guests and provide memorable experiences for our guests and clients
- Must have previous experience in a full-service hotel or convention center.
- Must be computer literate with proven ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
- Must be enthusiastic and passionate about hospitality and looking for an opportunity to grow.
- Working knowledge of Marriott’s unique proprietary global event management system software. Consolidated Inventory Total Yield (CI/TY) is an asset
- Knowledge and understanding of Sheraton cultural, core and brand standards, policies, and standard operating procedures is an asset.
- Knowledge of cost control, labour cost control, maintenance, and hotel business accounting is an asset.
- Experience supervising unionized personnel an asset.
