The Access to Information business area fulfills WCB - Alberta’s commitment to fair information practices. Reporting to the Supervisor, Access to Information, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for reviewing and documenting incoming requests for information from workers and employers. You will also be responsible for processing authorizations, determining the validity of access to information requests and communicating internally and externally to solve problems. Your Responsibilities:
- Review incoming requests and determine the validity and eligibility of an applicant’s request for information.
- Review authorizations to ensure all representatives are authorized and the appropriate authority has been granted for claim file information.
- Solve problems and communicate with customers in order to avoid any unnecessary delays in service.
- Using your independent problem solving skills, analyze claim history to determine validity of an ATI request.
- Create requests and gather components of the claim file within our secure digital environment.
- Release claim files electronically in accurately and thoroughly in accordance with privacy legislation.
- Communicate both verbally and in writing with external and internal customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Work Coordinator and/or Supervisor.
Your Qualifications:
- A high school diploma and experience in an office and customer service environment are preferred.
- General knowledge of WCB legislation, policy and procedures is considered an asset.
- General knowledge and familiarity with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Highly effective in a multi-tasking environment with ability to handle large volume of work while meeting deadlines.
- Reliability and time management skills are integral to success in this position.
- The ability to exercise independent judgment and work with mínimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.

SALARY: Salary Range 4 Start rate: $41,652 to
Job rate: $46,284 per annum
