Construction Manager

**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction site.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and other personnel.
- Creates scopes for sub trades and tender
- Manages vendors to develop needs assessments, plans, drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
- Ensure that all safety regulations are followed.
- Ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain a schedule of activities for the project.
- Performs reviews and comments on the accuracy and completeness of plans, drawings and specifications.
- Reviews cost estimates against project budgets and implement cost saving measures where necessary
- Tracks and manages project progress and proactively deals with unexpected / unbudgeted issues that may affect the timing, quality and cost of the project
- Coordinate with trades to ensure that all materials and supplies are available when needed.
**Qualifications/Experience**
- Four (4) year degree in Architecture, with an Architect license from the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) or Engineering, with a Professional Engineering license from Professional Engineers Ontario (P. Eng.); (preferred)
- Project Management Professional certification is preferred(PMP)
- 7+ years of successful construction project completion (on time, within the stated budget and within quality parameters) and more than one full life cycle (start-to-end) managing of a construction project
- 5+ years in a supervisory capacity, including managing contractors and trades
- Excellent organizational, communication, time management and leadership skills
- Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders and peers
- Honed critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Experience with the administration of consultant and construction contracts
- Experienced with the administration of the Construction Lien Act
