Payroll Clerk

**Position Description**:
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for, among other things, payroll, remittances, benefits and RRSP administration, and Records of Employment. The Payroll Clerk is directly accountable to the Controller.
**Responsibilities**:
- To establish and maintain confidential employee files
- To enter direct deposit information into online banking system
- To process biweekly payroll for up to 220 employees, prepare and remit source deductions and payroll tax
- To process TD1 forms
- To prepare T-4 forms
- To track timesheets, verify pay amounts, hours of work, deductions, etc
- To preparing payroll remittances
- To assist in the year-end process and prepare journal entries
- To manage enrolments in the benefits plans and employee group RRSP program and update employee records as required
- To assist with payables when needed
- To ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files at all times
- To keep current with federal and provincial payroll legislation and best practices
**Qualifications**:
The Payroll Clerk will have a certificate or diploma from a recognized institution in the area of accounting, office administration, or related field or two years previous, hands-on payroll experience. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification through Canadian Payroll Association is an asset.
Pay: $26.88-$34.02 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
