Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Finance Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the overall financial operations of the multiple Band owned businesses. This position requires proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Finance Clerk's role would include, but not limited to:
• Responding to, preparing and following up on information requests of the Financial Controller and
Executive Director;
• Administer weekly payroll for multiple band owned businesses;
• Day-to-day financial management and data entry;
• Ability to organize files and carry out the duties of the position with independence;
• Maintain general ledgers;
• Perform month-end and quarter-end accounting processes;
• Reconcile and record sales reports;
• Preparing budget claim reports;
• Monitoring and maintaining operating and capital budgets.
Education and Experience:
• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or financial management would be considered an asset.
• Experience with office administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Sage accounting would be considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration would be an advantage.
Compensation:
• Salary range: $40,000 - $55,000 per year based on experience. After a three-month probation period, the
employee is eligible for a benefit package.
