**What we do**:
At BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, we’re on a quest to ensure every kid in the province receives the best health care imaginable. As a fundraising organization, we inspire communities and people to support BC Children’s Hospital, along with its world-class research institute, mental health facility and rehabilitation center.

Our work makes a profound difference. From helping get the boldest research ideas off the ground to supporting the most advanced equipment, together we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in children’s health care. This is no small task—which is why we’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help propel our work forward to **_power the possible_**.

**What you’ll do**:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Principal Gifts, the Philanthropy Coordinator supports the development and execution of strategies for select prospective donors, acts as a liaison for donors currently in stewardship, and provides administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Principal Gifts team. In this role, you will take initiative and bring a proactive mindset - anticipating what’s needed next in the donor journey, from relationship-building touchpoints to internal coordination that enables thoughtful, timely engagement.

More specifically, you will:

- Act as liaison for select donors in cultivation and stewardship, managing all internal tasks and processes to allow the Principal Gifts team and Associate Director to focus on external initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Prospect Development team to request and review research on prospective donors; identify insights to inform relationship-building and strategy. Manage this information and ensure appropriate follow-up, either independently or in a supporting role, depending on the donor.
- Request prospective donor funding opportunities from the Strategic Partnerships team and review them to determine next steps. Manage the process to ensure timely follow-up, act independently or in a supporting role, depending on the donor.
- Review active and inactive prospect lists and recommend actions to advance donor relationships. Manage follow-up as needed, either independently or in a supporting role, depending on the donor.
- Prepare briefing and debriefing notes for donor meetings and ensuring follow-up on identified actions. Manage next steps as needed, either independently or in a supporting role, depending on the donor.
- Maintain donor records in donor database, proactively input notes and actions and ensure information/actions are brought forward.
- Provide high-level administrative support including calendar management, coordinating meetings (agenda setting, facilitation support, and minute taking), and preparing team expense reports.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining the Principal Gifts donor pipeline in the donor database.
- Collaborate with other teams across the Foundation and Hospital to support and strengthen donor relationships.

**What you bring**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., administration, business, marketing, fundraising, etc).
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a fundraising environment.
- Knowledge, with an advantage of hands-on experience of, how to build relationships with major and principal gifts donors, from identification to solicitation.
- Experience with database administration; Raiser’s Edge experience is an asset.
- Excellent communications skills with an ability to draft, proof, edit and write a range of written materials.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with a high level of discretion.
- Well-developed time management and organization skills with an ability to efficiently manage a diverse range of assignments while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Strong team player with an ability to work collaboratively as well as autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with people at all levels, including donors, hospital partners, senior volunteers, patient families and internal colleagues.
- Excellent customer service ethic with an ability to create and foster positive relationships.
- Embody our values - Think Big, Lead with Heart and Step Up

**What you can expect**:
