Morrison Hershfield is seeking a Communications and Marketing Specialist to engage in and support the organization's vision through strategic communications activities that are responsive to the business needs of internal stakeholders and external customers.
This position will support the development, and implementation of internal communications to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, morale and performance. It will support developing external communications that highlight significant aspects of our business and company achievements.
As part of the Corporate Marketing and Communications team, the role will also include creating and supporting the development of marketing materials that position Morrison Hershfield as experts within the engineering field and elevating our brand as thought leaders.
Key Duties
- Draft internal and external communication including, but not limited to, ghostwritten articles, blogs, scripts, speeches, memos, presentations, videos, social posts and white papers.
- Proactively coordinate internal and external resources for updates and to ensure projects and messages are delivered on time.
- Develop and manage a corporate communication calendar.
- Manage communications sections of the corporate intranet site, external website, blog and social media channels by providing content aligned with major initiatives.
- Assist to develop implement ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
- Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, events planning etc.)
- Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
- Undertake individual tasks of a communications and marketing business plan as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communication or Public Relations.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, ideally in a consulting engineering or other professional services firm environment
- A customer service oriented, self-starter with the ability to set priorities while multitasking and self-manage assignments from start to finish.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and distill engineering topics into concise messaging.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Desktop publishing capabilities with Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
- Knowledge of or the ability to learn SharePoint and HubSpot tools.
- Understanding of marketing elements, including traditional and digital marketing and market research and analytics methods.
