**A Brief Summary of This Position**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Drafter position in our Infrastructure Division. This is an individual contributor position and supports our Valmont West Coast Engineering team in Barrie ON. Our customers within this department primarily consist of ministries of highways, municipalities, utility companies, and telecommunication companies.

The incumbent of this position will be responsible for the 3-D modeling and drafting of products to be quoted and fabricated by the manufacturing facility. The Drafter supports the drafting duties for Project Managers, Designers, and Engineers while also scheduling and coordinating multiple drafting tasks. The incumbent of this position will interface with all individuals within the company and will work closely with the Managing Engineer and Operations Team on achieving company goals.

**Essential Functions/Duties**:

- This position reports to the Engineering Director/Barrie Operations Manager and has no direct reports or indirect reports
- This role requires no travel
- Manage schedule and workload to meet project delivery dates
- Develop, implement, and maintain drafting quality control and standards programs
- Read and interpret moderate-to-complex technical information
- Support the completion of drawings that are consistent with Valmont’s standard practices
- Utilize SolidWorks to generate multi-configuration and design table driven parts, assemblies, and drawings
- Independently work to achieve goals while also collaborating in a team environment
- Technical Drafting Certificate or Associate’s Degree in a related field
- Minimum 3+ years of experience using SolidWorks
- Minimum 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD
- Experience working with SolidWorks in a parametric, design table driven data base environment
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrated skills working with analytics and mathematics
- Proficiency in the French language
- Formal education or work experience in mechanical/structural engineering
- Strong familiarity with Highway or Lighting structures
- Experience using Visual Manufacturing

**Working Environment and Physical Efforts**:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk when moving about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
