Using variousindustry software, they play a critical role in creating plans, drawings, andspecifications ensuring all designs adhere to GEL design principles, clientrequirements, and any relevant codes and standards. They will perform variousengineering calculations and assist with equipment or material selection as required.Receiving direction from the Design Manager and/or the Engineer, the SeniorDesigner will utilize their design and communication skills to meet projectmilestones as assigned by Engineer/Project Manager and/or Design Manager.The Senior Designer will spend most of their timeon their computer completing design work but will also perform site visitsindependently and/or with their team members. Mandatory Health & Safetytraining will be required for this role along with Security Clearances ifdeemed necessary by project.The Senior Designer will uphold the Gerrits' CoreValues – Genuine, Engaged, Leadership - to ensure we are building strongrelationships with our colleagues, our clients and contributing to thecontinued growth and success of the Company. Whatqualifications would you need to be successful in this role?-      Completion of a 2- or 3-yearDiploma with Mechanical Engineering Technology (or other relevantpost-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering>) years relevant workingexperience as a Designer in an Engineering Consulting firm-      Industrial, Commercial andResidential building design experience considered an asset.-      Proficient with Microsoft Office,Revit, AutoCAD, and Carrier HAP-      Strong understanding and workingknowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, Ontario Building Code.GerritsEngineering Limited welcomes and encourages applications from people withdisabilities.
