OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This Maintenance Inventory Control is responsible for maintaining and managing departmental inventory by keeping track of goods and supplies. Their primary duties include tracking incoming and outgoing materials and products, monitoring reorders, and initiating restock requests according to demand. Collaborate with management by secure parts and material required before tasks are assigned for completion. Ensure all information is maintained to expected levels within the CMMS and produce ad hoc reports through the system request. The Inventory Controller monitors inventory and orders additional stock as required. They also organize and store items in designated area to ensure other employees can access the supplies, raw materials, and products they need to perform their jobs effectively. Inventory Controller audit supplies carefully and report any discrepancies between the actual count and the recorded stock levels to a manager or supervisor. They also account for damaged, mis-ordered, and returned inventory.
What you’ll do
- Maintaining and updating required inventory levels for goods, products, and materials
- Conducting quality checks on inventory to comply with company standards
- Processing and documenting returned items
- Implementing inventory management procedures, forecasting and supplier management
- Monitoring inventory losses and implementing loss-prevention programs
- Preparing relevant reports for supervisors
- Ordering inventory from vendors and suppliers
- Work with the planner to ensure parts are pre-kitted to complete the repair
- Completion of assignments provided by management, like ATOS
- Help the planner with data entry or inputting new tasks when needed
- Complete assigned work in a timely manner
- Demonstrate flexibility in an ever-changing environment
- Work constructively and effectively with all internal and external contacts
What you bring
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft project
- Self motivated individual who works well with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance techniques on work order flow and work order backlog.
- Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in production inventory management
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within production/ inventory
- Experience in high paced distribution center preferred
- Able to rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals.
- Excellent time management skills
- Detail orientated
- Able to work with mínimal supervision
