**Job Band**: **Hiring Manager**: Terrence Patrick Myers **HR Rep**: Oluwaseye Solaja The EHS Co-op Student will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team in implementing and maintaining safety and environmental programs. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field or recent graduate. The student will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and compliance efforts. The EHS Co-op Student reports to the EHS Leader. No off-site travel is required for this position. RESPONSIBILITIES - ** Support EHS Programs**:Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety and environmental programs, policies, and procedures. - ** Conduct Inspections and Audits**:Participate in routine safety inspections, hazard assessments, and internal audits. - ** Data Collection and Reporting**: Gather and analyze EHS data, prepare reports, and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance. - ** Incident Investigation Support**:Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking. - ** Training and Communication**: Help develop and deliver safety training materials and communications to plant personnel. - ** Waste and Recycling Management**:Support initiatives related to waste reduction, recycling, and environmental sustainability. - ** Participate in Safety Meetings**: Attend and contribute to safety committee meetings and toolbox talks. - ** Contractor Safety Management**:Assist in onboarding and monitoring contractors to ensure compliance with site safety protocols. - ** Emergency Preparedness**:Support emergency response planning, including drills, equipment checks, and documentation updates. - ** Ergonomics and Workplace Assessments**:Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce risk of injury. - ** Chemical Inventory and SDS Management**:Help maintain chemical inventories and ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date and accessible. - ** Regulatory Research**:Assist in researching and interpreting applicable environmental and safety regulations. - ** Perform Other Duties as Assigned**:Take on additional tasks as needed to support the EHS team and plant operations.
