The Opportunity.

Our Montreal office is currently recruiting for a bilingual Litigation Support Clerk. In this role you will provide administrative assistance for the litigation team in order to help them to defend and assert our clients’ IP assets against their competitors.

Responsibilities.

  • Conflict checks, new client forms, preparing engagement letters;
  • Opening new electronic files;
  • Preparing certain routine correspondence;
  • Monitoring litigation office supplies in local office (Montreal) and ensuring suitable quantities of same are maintained, coordinating with facilities manager as needed;
  • Attending office as needed for onsite assistance (assisting paralegals with preparation of physical documents and taking to court as needed);
  • Conducting corporate searches and factual research;
  • Time entry and billing, including managing incoming invoices and preparing invoices;
  • Monitoring budgets;
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications, competencies and experience.

  • Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma or relevant experience;
  • Experience in a law firm or other Professional services an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal directly with clients and colleagues;
  • Fluently bilingual (French-English);
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and proactive;
  • Available for overtime, if necessary;
  • Highly proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software and technology quickly.
