Food Runner

The Granite Club is looking for a full--time Food Runner who will act as the central link between the service staff and the kitchen, and are responsible for the orderly and efficient service of food throughout the dining areas. Food Runners are required to act as ambassadors and representatives of the Club as a whole as Member perceptions of the Club in general are influenced by the front-line staff they encounter. The position also entails the maintenance and enhancement of the Granite Gold level of service necessary to properly represent the Granite Club.

Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to Member requests and needs in a prompt manner.
- Superior knowledge of restaurant menus.
- Expedite and run food in an efficient manner.
- Ensure that each Member receives the correct dish by utilizing Server’s maps and seat numbers.
- Serves Members in proper fashion by serving women first.
- Set up Expediting Station’s mis-en-place (e.g. Polish cutlery, Fold napkins, ramekins etc).
- Ensure proper setup of wine buckets with crushed ice and water with a black line draped over.
- Break down the Expediting Station and empty all wine buckets that are not in use.
- Display excellent team work by supporting Servers and Service Helpers (e.g. bussing tables).
- Actively demonstrate teamwork, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy.
- Report all equipment and maintenance issues to a Restaurant Manager.
- Follow all fire and emergency procedures.
- Knowledgeable about the employee handbook and follow all the policies.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education and 2 years related work experience.
- Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal)
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Excellent Communication and Social Skills.
- Emotionally Mature, Respectful and Sincere.
- Well Groomed and Courteous.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications.
- Required to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
