**Position**: **Family Support Worker**

**Responsible to**: **Supervisor of Coordinated Services**

The Family Support Worker (FSW) plans, develops and implements programming for both drop-in programming and virtual programming for participants and their children operating on a hybrid model. The FSW builds a trusting professional relationship with program participants and through education; provides parents/caregivers with support that builds the capacity for positive parenting, decision-making, and positive attachment. The FSW serves as a liaison with other organizations in the community that share similar goals to meet the objectives of the program.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Plan/scheduling virtual/in-person programming sessions
- Coordinate with the Children’s Program/Nutrition Program (FSW staff) to plan monthly activities/workshops for both in-person and virtual programming
- Network with community partners; inviting different agencies to deliver facilitations to participants both virtually and in-person.
- Respond to calls/texts during working hours. Regarding programming, supporting participants, and making appropriate referrals while maintaining professional boundaries both virtually and in-person
- Via the platform “Teams” maintaining communication between joint BF/HFTS’ teams page sending regular updates, creating links for virtual calls and updating information as needed
- FSW’s are collectively responsible for donation disruption to families/participants. Both in-person and scheduled deliveries as needed. Organizing an appropriate number of donations needed at each site (this involves having donations/supplies in the worker’s vehicle in order to transport to different sites).
- Ensure program sites have the materials to run programming, appropriate paperwork is accessible and restocked as needed
- Contribute to updating social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
- Intake of new registrations/updating participant information
- Case management; attendances, program logs, voucher tracking, referral tracking (to be handed into supervisor weekly)
- Promote healthy social and emotional skills in children and build upon parent’s parenting skills and community knowledge
- Provide information on healthy child development and family resources/supports.
- Network with community agencies and services to enhance supports for participants
- Contribute to the program in a framework where the emphasis is on teamwork
- Attend all required meetings and training opportunities. Qualifications:

- College diploma in social services field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years experience working with at-risk families.
- Knowledge of child development ages 0-6.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Confident in facilitating in group settings.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: Up to $17.90 per hour
