We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mandarin-Speaking Support Worker to join our team. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, administering medications, and supporting them in various aspects of their lives, including personal care and meal preparation. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through attentive and personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document client progress and report any concerns to the case manager or nursing staff.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
- Provide support for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments through compassionate communication and patience.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, medical terminology, and case management is beneficial.
- Experience working with people with disabilities and providing hospice care is a plus.
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, and patient care effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with clients and their families.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Certification in first aid/CPR is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A genuine passion for helping others and improving their quality of life.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.10-$29.69 per hour
