Invitae's Collaborations & Business Development team is focused on commercial collaborations that drive high test volume, health systems and population health initiatives or research, as well as commercial entities and large strategic employers who want to transform their employee health benefits programs through Invitae.

As the lead of the Business Development team, you will be responsible for all activities related to setting and achieving the team's objectives. The Lead will be responsible for developing business plans, managing business results, obtaining and analyzing relevant information, knowledge of regions, market intelligence, identifying key opportunities and issues and ensuring the CBDR team has the appropriate tools for success. The Lead will take into consideration strategic objectives, resource constraints and organizational values while making decisions.

We're looking for a thoughtful, results-oriented relationship builder who can execute flawlessly at every stage of interaction, from the sales process, to understanding our partners' needs, working closely with senior executives, and translating a clinical product and experience into impact for our customers.

**In this role, you will focus on**:

- Achievement of team's goals and objectives
- Development and execution of a divisional business plans that align with the company strategy
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure that requirements for executing partnerships within the targeted health organizations can be achieved
- Developing and maintain KOL relationships
- Evaluate performance of your team members and ensures they receive the appropriate feedback and training to be successful on an ongoing basis
- Addressing performance issues immediately and professionally with team members
- Maintaining a high level of product and market knowledge and regional healthcare system knowledge.
- Working with our current clinical customers and potential new customers to identify opportunities to leverage population-scale genomic data and helping scope a deployment to deliver on these transformative outcomes
- Establishing rapport with current clinical customers and non-customers (especially at senior levels) and advance Invitae's interests in conversations
- Represent Invitae at regional and national conferences

**Although this position is multi-faceted and its responsibilities are not rigidly defined, the following are a core set of abilities, skills, interests, and experiences that are required for success in this role**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Science or other relevant fields required
- Graduate degree in relevant fields is valued but not required
- 10+ year experience in relevant industry/commercial environment as a sales professional or sales manager
- Experience within complex selling environments, managed care knowledge and ability to prioritize and align organizational goals and objectives with selling process
- Results driven and action-oriented approach to your work, with the ability to think strategically and be detail oriented
- Demonstrated success in project and client management requiring highly developed analytical abilities and thought partnership, as well as practical and action-oriented leadership
- Repeated success designing and delivering presentations to senior executives and stakeholders
- Demonstrated familiarity with the healthcare ecosystems (payers, providers, patients), population health, clinical decision makers, etc.
- Success in recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining top talent required
- Ability to travel
- Willingness to make a two-year commitment to this role
