**Job Location**: 533 Eglinton Ave. W, 125 Burnaby Blvd Green P Parking Lot #47
**Reports to**:
BIA Office & Board of Management
**Engagement Period**:
Sundays - June through October
2 hours each week for vendor management
Additional work may be assigned on ad hoc basis
**Mandatory Hours (on site)**:Mandatory 7 hour in-person Sunday shift from 7 am to 2 pm
**Farmers’ Market**:
The Eglinton Way BIA is excited to revive our 7th Annual Farmers’ Market Since 2018, our market has become a staple weekly event dedicated to strengthening and promoting our community, supporting local farms and businesses, and enhancing food security. Find everything from local vendors and live music to fresh goods, handmade crafts, free kids activities and more The market takes place every Sunday in the Green P parking lot on Burnaby Boulevard, just north of Eglinton near Castle Knock Road. The Farmers’ Market Coordinator will be responsible for the successful execution of the Market. Eligible applicants must have their own cell phone and be able to perform lifting and access stairs.
- Weekly Equipment Management:_
- The Eglinton Way tents (weights used when necessary)
- Portable Generator
- Tables and chairs
- Kids activation area
- Pylons
- A-frame signs
- Flag banners
- Administration & Execution:_
- Working with Market Manager for smooth operation on market days
- Creating weekly vendor map and sending to vendors
- Managing and updating Farmers’ Market Master Document
- Managing BIA Booth and providing information to the public
- Promoting and selling EWBIA Gift Cards using iPad & POS
- Managing and securing locked cash box
- Weekly reporting of vendor attendance, foot traffic, activities and progress
- Liaising with vendors and attendees
- Providing high quality photos and videos to BIA staff for marketing purposes
- Social media posting, as directed
- Event clean-up of litter and garbage disposal
**Preferred Qualifications and/or Skills**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented
- Comfortable dealing with people/public realm
- Ability to lift up to 10 kg of heavy equipment and access stairways
- Cell phone for communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
- Working knowledge of photography and videography
- Working knowledge of social media
- Knowledge of The Eglinton Way neighborhood is an asset
- BIA experience is an asset
