Maintenance Tech II - Building Operator

Reporting to : Maintenance Supervisor

Core Purpose of the job : Receive deliveries for soft and hard FM, place items in designated areas and organize all stock rooms/areas. Perform manual work related to the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment and may be required to assist skilled tradespersons in carrying out their work.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities:

- Receive all deliveries and validate receipts against appropriate documentation (e.g. packing slips, way-bills) ensuring quality and quantity of materials received are correct and meets standards. Place items in necessary areas and maintain a clean, organized work area following Waste Management Guidelines and Health and Safety Procedures.
- Perform grounds and gardens duties, including but not limited to, pressure washing, leaf blowing, parking lot cleaning, and tree removal, as assigned by Supervisor. Maintain and clean all grounds equipment when required.
- Carry out semi-skilled mechanical, electrical and building maintenance duties in both scheduled work and reactive work as directed by the supervisor/engineer.
- Clean and maintain building envelope, light posts, signage and any other exterior/interior fabrics as needed. Perform painting and patching tasks as assigned.
- Transport heavy furniture and/or equipment manually and/or using aides such as dollies, pallet jacks and carts.
- Ensure the satisfactory, prompt and accurate completion of any associated paperwork as required by the company.
- Within the facility, escort visitors, contractors and other staff who have FA1, FA2, FA3 clearance, who do not have the appropriate RCMP security clearance to work on their own.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks when required to meet Project Agreement time requirements.
- Comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
- Fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
- Support the Company's Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in the achievement of Company and personal Quality objectives
- Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description

Essential Attributes
- Previous knowledge of Building and Grounds Maintenance & ability to lift 50 lb. (25kg).
- Must have great organizational skills.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and to operate related equipment.
- Knowledge of the materials, methods, tools and equipment used in Facility Management.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices in accordance with Work Safe Regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- RCMP Reliability Status security clearance.
