Medical Lab Assistant

We are seeking reliable and motivated Medical Lab Assistants to join our cohesive Lab team at the Princeton General Hospital.
The Lab is open Monday to Friday daytime with on-call coverage required for evenings, nights and weekends. Shift times are 06:30 to 14:30, 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 07:00, and 07:00 to 07:00.
MLAs perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required. This position requires on-call work using Point of Care and Virtual Care models.
The Princeton General Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Okanagan health service area. Located southwest of Penticton, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, and 24-hour emergency.

Grade 12
Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Valid BC Driver’s License
