Supplies & Equipment Coordinator

Job Purpose: This position assists the manager with day-to-day administrative support within Fleet & Facility Services and is responsible for ensuring maintenance scheduling coordination, material supply requirements and subsequent records management is maintained.

Job Duties:
Initiate, edit, and ensure accuracy of Repair Requests from operators for Fleet & Facility Services technicians on entire Sturgeon County fleet.
Assist in assigning work orders and prioritize work of the technicians and other staff as required.
Assist in supervising and setting Health and Safety Standards within the Fleet Shop and Fleet Yard/ Report all incidents and near misses in accordance with our Health and Safety System.
Initiate, edit, and accurately record unit information and associated costs on work orders for maintenance and repairs for Sturgeon County fleet and external customers.
Complete parts requisition order, reconcile data, and submit to Fleet & Facility clerk for purchase order completion.
Obtain price quotations and performs parts ordering for all work orders as directed by technicians upon review by Manager, Fleet & Facility Services.
Responsible for parts inventory control including stock ordering and receiving, restocking inventory levels, including general stock, repair supplies, tires, lube oil inventory, waste oil disposal, etc.
Arrange, monitor, record, and ensure completion of all general repairs, inspections, warranty repairs, etc. for vehicles, equipment and accessories from external sublet contractors and suppliers.
Provide and record required general supplies as requested by other department staff for non-repair or preventive maintenance issues.
Responsible for daily updating of Shop Supervisor on operations, work order status, and other related items required for efficient operation of department.
Refer to the Manager, Fleet & Facility Services any irregularities in the operation and care of county vehicles.
Responsible for accurate records of vehicle and equipment fire extinguisher and first aid kits.
Responsible for accurate records of all vehicle and equipment two-way radio inventory.
Assume the role of Shop Supervisor in his/her absence.
Perform other related duties as required by Shop Supervisor.
Adhere to applicable responsibilities and accountabilities as outlined in the Sturgeon County Health and Safety Management System

Job Skills

Job Qualifications

This position requires a Journeyman parts certificate with a minimum of 2 years fleet maintenance experience or holds a related Journeyman ticket with 5 years’ experience in a parts man position or 10 years’ experience in a parts man position with a high school diploma. Must have a good understanding of heavy equipment and vehicle parts. Must also possess a valid Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
