Edmonton, Canada Blanchett Neon Full time

Blanchett Neon is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our industry-leading team of professionals in Edmonton, AB. In order to succeed in this role, the individual will need to display competence in accounting functions, be a great operational communicator, and be able to achieve pre-determined goals and timelines (excellent time management skills are needed to meet weekly, monthly, and annual reporting deadlines). The position will be reporting directly into the Vice President, and will oversee the accounting department.

Salary range is $75,000 to $90,000 + benefits

**Key Responsibilities**

Full Cycle Accounting:

- Billing and collections (Production & Service)
- Complex Unionized Payroll (Production & Service)
- Familiar with Union Agreements and Remittances, Commission Sales, Taxable Benefits, CRA Remittances, Employee Benefits
- Monthly Bank Reconciliation
- Monthly Credit Card Reconciliation
- Monthly WIP and COGs Reconciliation
- Weekly, monthly, annual journal entries (recurring and complex)
- Benefits administration
- Accounts payable
- Inventory & WIP

Management:

- Oversee the accounting department staff (one individual)
- Project based accounting
- Management Reporting (Monthly and Yearly Financial Statements, Financial Modelling, Dashboards, as well as Internal Reporting)
- Work with the President on corporate matters
- Be the key banking contact
- Work with the purchasing department on inventory controls and month end accounting
- Work with the production department on scheduling and reporting
- Ad-hoc requests as assigned

**Education and experience needed to succeed**
- Near completion, or completion of the CPA accounting designation would be an asset.
- Sage 50 Premium Accounting Certification (would be an asset)
- Sage 50 Premium Accounting Work Experience
- Level 1 CPA - Certified Payroll Association (would be an Asset)
- Payroll Experience, unionized payroll is an asset
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Manufacturing experience is an asset
- Knowledge of MISys Manufacturing an asset
