Full Job Description

Accounting & Tax Associates Inc. is looking for a part time Bookkeeper who will take care of daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks including record keeping, receivables, payables, payroll and updating company accounting reports.

This is a core position in the company’s financial accounting, budgeting and reporting areas. In this role you will be involved in all aspects of the business, and interact with our support staff with administrative and operational tasks.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monthly bank accounts and credit cards reconciliations
- Payroll twice per month (15th and 31st)
- Deposits, fund transfers, processing credit card payments
- Ensure all bills and business credit cards balances are paid on time
- Manage records and filing following the company's digitization processes
- Maintain monthly and weekly cashflow documents, income and budget reports
- Manage accounts receivables: send overdue invoice reminders and perform collections
- Invoice projects and small billable tasks, add changes to our monthly tracker as required
- Sort, record and classify contracts and client’s information according to internal guidelines and based on content
- Identify contract discrepancies and outstanding issues, and gather additional documentation as needed within prescribed time frames
- Collect government tax and employee information for new hires
- Keep accurate records of employees including vacation / sick
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms on a monthly and quarterly basis, ROE forms and other government documents as needed
- Coordinate and manage office maintenance and office filing system for financial records
- Prepare year end papers for the accountant / work with accountant to finalize year end

**Requirements**:

- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping best practices, CPB preferred
- Certificate or degree in bookkeeping or accounting
- Minimum 2 year relevant bookkeeping and administrative experience
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail, accuracy and time management
- Superior analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Capable to work independently or as part of a team while meeting deadlines

**Job Type**: Freelance

**Salary**: $15.00-$24.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Sage 50: 3 years (required)
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (required)

**Salary**: $23.00-$24.00 per hour
