**Summary**

We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team at Terra Nova Medical Clinic in Canada. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our clinic's operations, ensuring we can focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and receipts as well following up on payment.
- Assist with physician billing submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely claim entry as well as correction of rejected billings.
- Assist in the development of billing guides for providers.
- Assist in the training of providers on billings under different payment models and provider types.
- Reconcile billing remittance reports against payments from MSP and other payers (Health Authorities and other third parties).
- Support cash and bank reconciliations including the investigation of discrepancies.
- Prepare and update spreadsheets, reports, and financial summaries as requested.
- Assist with the recording of transactions in the accounting software (QuickBooks)
- Support payroll preparation.
- Maintain organized digital financial records and filing systems.
- Support in month-end and year-end reports and closing activities.
- Assist with management of the fixed asset register and medical inventory.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Support Internal Audit and financial systems optimization.
- Perform other accounting and finance tasks as requested by the Finance Lead.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with payroll systems is a plus.
