**Job Description for Wedding & Events Sales Manager**

**Position Title**: Wedding and Events Sales Manager

**Status**: Full-time

**Hours**: 40 hours/week (Regular Weekend and Occasional Evening work required to accommodate tours)

**Regular Hours & Shifts**:Wednesday through Sunday, 9am-5pm daily

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and working alongside a second Wedding & Events Sales Manager, remainder of the Sales Team along with the Food and Beverage Team the Wedding & Events Sales
Manager will utilize their passion, skills, and industry experience to book and increase business through the development of new opportunities and active follow up of current inquiries propelling clients to and through the contract signing stage.

A base annual salary will be in place in addition to a commission bonus structure.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

- Accountable for booking and increasing Wedding and Catering business through the development of new sales and active follow up of current inquiries to meet and exceed targets
- Conduct site visits and phone appointments with clients to share and discuss venue spaces, understand the clients event needs, budgets, and recommend services accordingly
- Suggest and be involved in creation of new packages for various offsite venue partners
- Prepare and present proposals, estimates, and contracts to clients including negotiating and closing business
- Has a thorough understanding of the sales process and how to engage with and encourage clients to continue moving through the sales process in a quick fashion
- Utilize existing wedding planner and vendor relationships (strong Greater Toronto Area relationships important) to promote referrals to our multiple wedding and event venues
- Respond to sales leads and client requests same day or within 24 hours
- Gather, record and share all necessary information to confidently communicate event details and clients vision to the Event Coordinator in order to seamlessly continue the event planning and execution stages
- Contribute to development of sales plan and strategy to meet and exceed goals
- Coordinate internally with the Chef, Food & Beverage Team, Front Desk and other teams when needed to negotiate business
- Attend and represent the Hotel and it’s partners at various trade shows, promotional, and other industry events within the Hotel and Events industry to promote the Hotel venues and its event services
- Utilize efficient sales strategies to upsell client experiences and maximize food and beverage, spa, and other Hotel revenue to the utmost potential
- Populate and maintain regular reports on confirmed and pending sales performance and progress
- Attend any weekly Food & Beverage and Operational meetings as required
- Stay updated on current trends, new ideas, and service standards within the event industry and propose new ideas to improve our services and event quality
- Follow up with clients following events and communicate feedback to appropriate Teams to improve offerings and services
- Represent 124 on Queen hospitality culture in all interactions with clients and team members while following all departmental policies, procedures and service standards
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, event venues, and other partners to expand the company's brand and network
- Take initiative to improve service levels, share knowledge and best practices
- Willingly accepts other duties and assists in tasks as assigned to meet department and team needs

**Qualifications and Experience**

1. 5+ years of sales experience in the luxury weddings and hospitality field

2. Existing wedding planner and other industry relationships important, especially within the GTA

3. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets

4. Diploma or degree in event management or a related field is an asset

5. Demonstrated ability to organize workload and respond to competing priorities in a busy, dynamic environment

6. Self-motivated, a problem solver, and driven to provide the best service possible

7. Very strong attention to detail

8. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

9. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

10. Exceptional hospitality and relationship management skills

**Working Conditions**
- Onsite at 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa or at our Corporate Head Office in Niagara-on-the-Lake
- Offsite at partnered venues in Niagara as needed for site tours

**Salary**: From $56,000.00 per year
